Raised in May 1967, primarily to accelerate and intensify road development activities in the state of Mizoram.  The ‘WONDER ORCHID’ of the East is one of the biggest Project of the Border Roads Organisation and is  responsible for the development and maintenance of roads encompassing the states of Mizoram and South Cachar region of Assam.

            PUSHPAK executes works on NH –53, NH -54 and a number of other roads  funded by General Staff, North Eastern Council and Ministry of Home Affairs.  The Project has successfully completed major roads like Udharband-Jatinga, Seiling-Tipaimukh, Serchhip-Thenzawl, Phailang-Marpara, and Kawlkulh-Mimbung and handed over to the State PWD.  Construction of 285 m long Kaladan Bridge, the longest bridge in Mizoram and located in a most difficult area is yet another feather in the cap of the Project.  It is also actively involved in the construction of roads and fencing along the Indo-Bangladesh border in Mizoram.

 
            PUSHPAK contributed significantly in the 1971 Bangladesh Operation, building and restoring the communication lines.  Challenging odds like adverse terrain, frequent floods, limited working season  uncongenial climatic conditions, never deterred the Pushpakians from achieving their goals. PUSHPAK is a house hold name in Mizoram, true to the slogan “Mizoram and PUSHPAK are made for each other”.
